
Cristina Amaral, the representative of UN Development Programme (UNDP) in Algeria praised on Monday here Algeria’s efforts in terms of youth empowerment and unemployment.
"We strongly commend Algeria’s determination and efforts, as reflects this conference, to establish a courageous policy of youth empowerment and help them to go through the transition period from school to labour world," she said during the Economic and Social Conference of Youth which is taking place in the Palais des Nations.
Amaral has also affirmed that Algeria has "much" advanced to promote the education, the gender equality and youth employment.
She reiterated the UN commitment, in partnership with the Youth Ministry to contribute to the success of these experiences and make other countries profit from the Algerian experience in terms of youth employment.
As for him, EU Ambassador to Algiers Marek Skolil, said that the cooperation between Algeria and the EU for the period from 2014-2020 focuses on the "governance, participation of the society in governance, and employment and economic diversification."
According to him, these fields directly affect young people; therefore, the conclusions and recommendations of this conference will contribute to the realization of the partnership project between Algeria and the EU.
The works of the Youth Economic and Social Conference is meant to address growth and youth, economic diversity and youth and development of rural areas and equal opportunities for young girls and men.
