Bee'ah, the Middle East’s leading award
Sharjah - WAM

Bee'ah, the Middle East’s leading award-winning environmental management company, has announced the installation of two additional reverse vending machines, RVM, at Al Qasba and Terminal 3 of the Dubai International Airport.
The announcement follows record participation in the Bee’ah Rewards Programme, during April and May, where the number of collection receipts reached 33,000.
Launched at the start of this year during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, Bee’ah Rewards is a unique CSR initiative that hopes to inculcate recycling habits in the UAE population through incentivisation. Over a period of five months, there has been a remarkable increase in participation. With 33,000 recent collection receipts, in contrast to 890 in January, it is evident that it has been well received by the public.
In response to the rise in public interest, Bee’ah has now increased the number of RVMs to reach larger audiences through placement in high footfall locations. With the new additions, the RVMs are now available in Sharjah at the American University of Sharjah, Dibba Al Hisn Municipality in the eastern region of Sharjah and Al Qasba. In Dubai, the RVMs are available at the Dubai Marina Mall and Terminal 3 of the Dubai International Airport. Further installations will soon follow at the Dubai Design District, Dubai World Trade Centre and parts of Abu Dhabi.
Fahad Shehail, Chief Development Officer of Bee’ah, said, "The expansion of Bee’ah Rewards is in direct response to the positive input we have received from the public. Their enthusiastic participation has motivated us to accelerate the transition from a linear model of consumption to resource recovery on a larger scale. In addition to building a more sustainable future for the community, the RVMs have been successful in integrating recycling into the routine of many residents. Community development is an integral part of Bee’ah’s mission and the success of this initiative has inspired us to offer its benefits to a wider population."
All members of the public are eligible to participate in the programme by depositing a recyclable into the RVM. They then receive a receipt with a unique code that can then be scanned through the Bee’ah App to gain direct entry into the monthly draw. Winners are announced at the start of every month through Bee’ah’s social media accounts.
In the month of April, Sunjiv Priyar Damai won a trip to the Maldives, while Pappu Singh Gurung won a coveted iPhone SE 16GB. The winners for the month of May were Kn Sharif Kn Kadar, who won a luxurious getaway to the Seychelles, and Ryan Espina Geronggay, who received a GoPro HERO camera.
Hazel Lianos Rendal walked away with a Nespresso Machine while Mohamed Anisur Rahman and Muhammad Hisham Shawk won Platinum tickets to Reel Cinemas. Muhammad Akram Ashraf, Ana Liza Bantugan Zamora and Ramon Ocampo Pabiana were the lucky recipients of ‘At The Top’ fast track tickets to the Burj Khalifa.
With the Rewards Programme growing rapidly, Bee’ah hopes to increase the overall recycling rates exponentially by next year. It will help reduce the UAE’s collective carbon footprint significantly while fuelling a sustainable and environmentally conscious cycle.
