Amman bourse loses 46 points in last week\'s trading

Benchmark of Amman Stock Exchange ended the past week trading with a loss of 46 points, according to figures of the bourse on Friday. Benchmark for the week closing dropped to 1833.2 points, compared with 1879. 4 points of the previous week, a decrease of 2.46 percent. As to sectors, the main index of the financial sector dropped 0.89 percent, the industries decreased 9.14 percent, however, the services gained 0.69 percent. Volume of daily trading amounted to approximately USD 9.4 million, compared with USD 12.4 million the week before; with a cut proportion of 23.6 percent. Overall volume of trades of the week stood at some USD 47.5 million, in contrast with USD 62.2 million the week before. Number of traded shares reached 38.2 million, done through 19,833 deals. As to sectors\' contributions in volume of trade, financial sector came first, 62.2 percent of the overall trade, followed by services, 19.4 percent, and lastly the industries, 18.4 percent. Comparing prices of closing of trading companies, amounting to 170, with previous closing, stock price of 60 ones rose and those of 76 others dropped.
