
FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Friday rose by 1.19 percent, or 70.61 points, to 6,021.09 points.
The share price of Lloyds Banking Group shot up 6.01 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Standard Chartered, TUI, Barclays and Taylor Wimpey spiked 5.50 percent, 4.74 percent, 4.57 percent and 4.45 percent respectively.
Randgold Resources led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 4.55 percent, following by Unilever (1.19 percent), Shire (1.08 percent), GlaxoSmithKline (0.82 percent) and Diageo (0.76 percent)
