Dollar trades at upper ¥109 level in early Tokyo deals

The U.S. dollar traded at the upper 109 yen level early Monday morning.
At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 109.79-81 yen compared with 109.72-82 yen in New York and 108.75-77 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday.
The euro fetched 1.2512-2513 dollars and 137.39-43 yen against 1.2511-2521 dollars and 137.35-45 yen in New York and 1.2642-2644 dollars and 137.49-53 yen in Tokyo late Friday afternoon.
