Dollar trades at upper 87 yen

The U.S. dollar traded at the upper 87 yen level in early Tokyo trading Friday. At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 87.70-71 yen compared with 87.20-30 yen in New York at 5 p.m. Thursday. The Tokyo market was closed Thursday for the New Year holidays. The euro fetched 1.3024-3026 dollar and 114.22-29 yen against 1. 3043-3053 dollar and 113.78-88 yen in New York.
