Gold and silver were split Friday with gold moving lower and silver higher, but movement was muted for each. Gold shed 60 cents, settling at $1,577.40 per troy ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Silver gained 8 cents to reach $28.96 per ounce. On Wall Street, the Dow Jones industrial average set its fourth all-time closing high for the week, adding 67.58 points or 0.47 percent to 14,397.10. Against the dollar the euro fell to $1.3002 from Thursday\'s $1.3107. Against the yen, the dollar was higher at 95.98 yen from 94.83 yen. The British pound fell to $1.4917 from $1.5014. The dollar fell to 1.0285 Canadian dollars from 1.0294 Canadian.
