Grain futures prices were mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade Monday as the dollar index rose 0.63 percent to 82.90 on the International Exchange. Corn was up 6 3/4 to up 8 1/4,soybeans were off 3 1/4 to up 1 1/2, wheat was off 2 1/2 to up 1 1/4 and oats were up 4 3/4 to up 9 3/4. Corn found support from signs of increasing ethanol demand. Wheat futures were mixed as continued cold weather indicates a slow spring, but recent moisture in the Plains states was viewed as beneficial. Soybean trading was choppy with support coming from China, which has increased soybean purchases recently. The prices: Corn: May 7.33 1/4 up 7, Jly 7.15 1/4 up 6 3/4, Sep 6.05 up 8 1/4, Dec 5.72 up 6 3/4. Soybeans: May 14.40 1/2 off 3 1/4, Jly 14.18 off 1/2, Aug 13.73 off 1/2, Sep 13.01 1/4 up 1 1/2. Wheat: May 7.27 1/4 off 2 1/2, Jly 7.29 off 1/4, Sep 7.35 1/2 up 1/2, Dec. 7.47 1/2 up 1 1/4. Oats: May 4.01 up 4 3/4, Jly 4.00 1/4 up 9 3/4, Sep 3.73 3/4 up 6 1/2, Dec 3.67 1/2 up 5.
