High discount on meat, poultry prices nationwide over Christmas

All consumer cooperatives, wholesale companies and mobile trucks spreading nationwide are now offering huge discount on the prices of food goods, especially meat and poultry, Supply Minister Khaled Hanafy said on Friday.

This comes on the occasion of the Christmas celebrations.

In a statement, Hanafy said all food commodities were put for sale at cost price to relieve burden on citizens and meet all their needs of foodstuff.

All food goods that comprise fish, sugar, oil, macaroni, tomato sauce, legumes, vegetables and fruit have been provided in large quantities, high quality and at low prices ranging from 20% to 25%, he added.

A large number of mobile trucks carrying many food goods, including fish, poultry, meat were provided nationwide to sell foodstuff at low prices, he asserted.
