Indian stocks' BSE benchmark index Sensex surged Thursday by 212.63 points in early trade to 26,843. 92, 0.80 percent up from the previous close of 26,631.29 points.
Since the beginning of this year, the Sensex has gained 27.6 percent, while foreign institutional investors have bought 14.02 billion U.S. dollar from local equity markets.
