
The spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Economy Azmy Abdul Rahman said the government is working on to cooperate with Arab and Islamic markets especially the Egyptian and Jordanian.
In exclusive statements to MENA on Thursday, Abdul Rahman said this comes after the current popular and officials campaigns boycotting Israeli goods.
The ministry new strategy aims to find an alternative to halt economic dependency on Israel.
He also pointed out at the government's bid to increase the volume of trade with other countries in light of the apparent recent support to the Palestinian economy.
The spokesman added that there are measures that impede the development of the Palestinian economy, adding that Israel controls crossing, airports and roads needed to increase the volume of trade with other countries as well as opening new markets. Abdul Rahman asserted the importance of pressing on Israel to alleviate measures taken.
Meanwhile, the spokesman pointed out that some countries have agreed to boost relations in trade field with the Palestinian market. He also urged Arab and Islamic countries to support the Palestinian economy.
