Qatar Exchange (QE) index gained 537.57 points (5.46%) during the month of November when it closed at 10,375.06 points on the last day of trading compared to the month of October 2013. The trading value of QR 8,659,033,698.69 noted in November is an increase by 83.17% compared to QR 4,727,319,078.32 registered in October, the Qatari bourse' monthly bulletin said. The market capitalization of QR 555,026,659,015.40 is an increase by 4.11% at the end of November compared to QR 533,105,651,290.71 at the end of October 2013. The trading volume of 256,114,746 shares is an increase by 130.67% compared to 111,031,344 shares in October, while the 120,824 transactions is an increase by 129.56% compared to 52,632 transactions during October 2013. Banks and financial services topped the trading value in November with 29.47% of the total traded value. Industries accounted for 24.01%, real estate accounted for 21.18%, consumer goods and services accounted for 10.04%, telecoms accounted for 8.25%, transportation accounted for 5.25% and insurance accounted for 1.80%. Real estate led trading volume with 31.86% of the total traded volume. Banks and financial services accounted for 22.65%, telecoms accounted for 17.46%, industries accounted for 12.49%, consumer goods and services accounted for 7.89%, transportation accounted for 6.51% and insurance accounted for 1.15%. From the 42 listed companies, 33 ended the month of November higher while eight fell and one company remained unchanged. The QE index maintained an upward graph throughout the month which saw 19 days of trading. It dipped only twice. On November 10 it marginally dropped by 0.38 points to 9,975.83 points from the previous day's closing. On November 20 it dropped by 23.28 points from the previous day's closing of 10,359.41 and dropped further to 10,283 points on November 21. Following two days of upward movement, the index again dropped by 72.38 points, the month's most significant fall, to 10,268.69 on November 26. The bourse passed the 10,000 barrier on November 11. In November there were 19 days of trading activity and 18 in October 2013.
