Saudi stock exchange index gains 79.56 points in October

All Share Index (TASI) of Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed at a level of 8,044.47 gained 79.56 points (1%) at the end of October 2013 over the close of the previous month. On an YTD basis TASI registered a positive increase of 18.28 % (1,243.25 points). Highest close level for the index during the month was 8,170.75 as on 24/10/2013. Total equity market capitalization at the end of October 2013 reached SR 1,620.37 billion (US$ 432.09 billion), increased by 2.18% over the close of the previous month, according to (Tadawul) website. The total value of shares traded for the month of October 2013 reached SR 83.75 billion (US$ 22.33 billion), decreased by 26.79% over the previous month. The total number of shares traded reached 3.23 billion shares during the month of October 2013 compared to 4.57 billion shares traded for the previous month, decreased by 29.43%. The total number of transactions executed during October 2013 reached 1.50 million compared to 2.21 million trades for the month of September 2013, decreased by 31.88%.
