Saudi Stock Exchange Market index falls 17% in August

Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed at a level of 7,522.47 decreased by 1,575.80 points (17.32%) over the close of the previous month at the end of August 2015.

The financial market pointed out in its monthly report today that TASI lost 9.73% (810.83 points) and the highest close level for the index during the month was 8,834.82 on 10/08/2015.

It noted that the total equity market capitalization at the end of August 2015 reached SAR 1,692.47 billion (US$ 451.33 billion), decreasing by (16.35%) over the close of the previous month. The total value of shares traded for the month of August 2015 reached SAR 116.28 billion (US$ 31.01 billion), increasing by (37.76%) over the previous month.

The report showed that the total number of shares traded reached 4.97 billion shares during the month of August 2015 compared to 2.60 billion shares traded for the previous month, an increase of (91.48%). The total number of transactions executed during August 2015 reached 2.47 million compared to 1.61 million trades for the month of July 2015, an increase of (53.17%).
