The overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Palestinian Territory increased in January by 1.13% compared to the previous month, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said Thursday. It said CPI increased by 1.15% in the West Bank, 0.56% in the Gaza Strip and by 0.43% in Jerusalem.January CPI increased by 2.36% when compared to January 2012 - 3.65% in the West Bank, 2.59% in Jerusalem, and 0.87% in Gaza Strip. The change in CPI for January was attributed to increase in fresh vegetables prices, which increased by 26.90%, potatoes and other tubers by 24.22%, eggs by 7.02% and gas by 2.95%.
