
Tokyo stocks gained Tuesday on improving outlook for the global economy, after the release of the Bank of Japan's Tankan business survey and positive Chinese factory activity data.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 164.10 points, or 1.08%, from Monday at 15,326.20, according to Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 13.52 points, or 1.07%, higher at 1,276.08.
Major gainers included mining, metal products and nonferrous metal shares.
