
Tokyo stocks rose Tuesday as caution over Greece's bailout negotiations was offset by optimism about domestic earnings performance and Japan's broader economic outlook.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 3.93 points, or 0.02 percent, from Monday at 19,624.84. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 3.94 points, or 0.25 percent, higher at 1,602.27, according to Japan's (Kyodo) News Agency.
Precision instruments and utilities led gainers, while major decliners included rubber products and mining.
