
U.S. equities closed higher on Friday, with the three major indexes posting weekly gains.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 72.66 points, or 0.39 percent, to close at 18,491.96.
The S&P 500 advanced 9.12 points, or 0.42 percent, to end at 2,179.98, with utilities leading all sectors higher. The Nasdaq closed 22.69 points higher, or 0.43 percent, at 5,249.90.
