The deal will mean Rhimes' production house, Shondaland, will remain with ABC studios until 2018, along with any content it produces. Rhimes is the creator of the medical drama Grey's Anatomy, which is in its tenth season, and the hit Washington D.C.-based drama Scandal, which just wrapped up its third season.
