Laura Linney, who was not present at the ceremony, was declared the winner of the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Movie or Miniseries for her work in \"The Big C.\" James Cromwell won the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Movie or Miniseries Emmy for his work in \"American Horror Story: Asylum,\" while the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Movie or Miniseries honor went to Ellen Burstyn for \"Political Animals.\"
