Chloe Grace Moretz explains her attraction to dark material

 Teen film star Chloe Grace Moretz says she is attracted to dark material because her real life is fairly normal and she occasionally wants to experience something different.
The 17-year-old actress' credits include Hugo, Kick-Ass, Let Me In, Dark Shadows, Carrie and the upcoming The Equalizer.
Asked at a recent press conference for her drama If I Stay why she often seems drawn to intense roles, Moretz replied:
"I think because I have quite a normal family. I am, like, kind of bored with how normal my family is. I want to mess stuff up a bit and I choose the kind of messed-up characters because I find that that's acting. You know what I mean? Exploring things and emotions that you wouldn't ordinarily be able to explore."
Co-starring Jamie Blackley, Mireille Enos, Joshua Leonard, Stacy Keach and Aisha Hinds, If I Stay is in theaters now. Directed by R.J. Cutler, the film is an adaptation of Gayle Forman's popular novel about a comatose teen who must decide whether to die and join family members who were killed in a car accident, or live with her grandparents and boyfriend.
