Christie Brinkley congratulates ex Billy Joel on marriage

Christie Brinkley congratulated ex-husband Billy Joel on his new marriage Sunday.

The model and activist, 61, shared her well wishes for Joel, 66, and his fourth wife, Alexis Roderick, 33, on Instagram after the couple married in a surprise ceremony over the weekend.

Brinkley posted a picture of the newlyweds, writing, "Congratulation to the glowing bride and groom.. And to my daughter Alexa, who has a wonderful friend in Alexis! Wishing the growing family every happiness!"

Brinkley and Joel, her second husband, were married from 1985 to 1994, and share daughter Alexa Ray Joel, 29. The model impressed fans with her "class," "kindness" and "grace" by congratulating her ex, who is expecting a baby with Roderick.

Brinkley went on to marry Richard Taubman in 1994, and welcomed son Jack Paris Taubman before divorcing the real estate developer the next year. She wed Peter Cook in 1996, and divorced the architect after he admitted to cheating in 2008. The former couple share daughter Sailor, 17.
