Jenny McCarthy says Donnie Wahlberg is the man of her dreams.
The 41-year-old television personality and 45-year-old actor married over Labor Day weekend, and McCarthy detailed the occasion in an interview with CBS. The newlywed said her son Evan made the ceremony extra special, and also shared why she and Walhberg work.
"I looked at my son just before I walked down the aisle and I saw his big blue eyes looking up at me in his little tuxedo and I thought there's nothing that can go wrong, nothing that can spoil this moment," she recalled. "Evan gave the most beautiful toast talking about his new step dad and how he's so grateful about how I've found someone I love and who he loves and was so excited to start a new family. So those types of moments don't get any better."
McCarthy hails from Chicago, and she and Wahlberg wed at the Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Ill. The ceremony was a quiet, 20-minute affair in front of their family and friends, and the actress wore a dress from Bergdorf Goodman. Both bride and groom have been married once before, but McCarthy said she and her husband share a special connection.
"We both come from really similar pasts," she shared. "We both have had ups and downs in our careers. We both had children. We both had a divorce. We both stayed in this business. We're both workaholics and passionate. The most important is that we have a spiritual connection. We're really involved with self-realization and self-improvement."
McCarthy left ABC's The View in August, and currently hosts her own radio talk show, Dirty Sexy Funny, on SiriusXM. Wahlberg will return for a fifth season of CBS series Blue Bloods on September 26, and is also involved in A&E reality show Wahlburgers with brother Mark Wahlberg.
