
Harris Wittels, executive producer, writer and actor on NBC's "Parks and Recreation" was found dead Thursday at his Los Angeles home. He was 30.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said Wittels' assistant discovered his body. He was pronounced dead around 1 p.m. local time.
Wittels died of a suspected drug overdose. Police found drug paraphernalia in his home and the comedian made no secret about his previous drug addiction and rehab stints during a recent stand-up routine.
Wittels appeared on "Parks and Recreation" in a small role as a stoner animal control employee also named Harris.
He also produced and wrote for "The Sarah Silverman Program" and "Eastbound and Down," and wrote the book "Humblebrag: The Art of False Modesty."
