Indian actor Jagathy Sreekumar injured

Indian comedian Jagathy Sreekumar was in a hospital in India Saturday after being seriously injured in a car accident in the city of Kozhikode, police said. The 62-year-old film actor suffered multiple injuries when his car struck a center divider near the Calicut University in the Malappuram district, police told the Indo-Asian News Service. \"He has injuries in the neck, chest and abdomen and, if necessary, he will have to undergo a surgery,\" a doctor at the hospital in Kozhikode told reporters. \"He has been put on ventilator.\" Sreekumar is a prolific talent in the Malayalam film world, which is produced in a southern India language. His credits include more than 1,100 movies and his prolonged absence could effect more than a dozen projects currently in various stages of production. News of Sreekumar\'s accident unleashed a flood of get-well wishes from fans on various social media, the Times of India said.
