Jessica Simpson's mom is engaged

Tina Simpson is engaged to Jon Goldstein.

The 55-year-old mother of singer and designer Jessica Simpson announced the news Wednesday on Instagram, writing, "He put a ring on it #intheclouds #gardener4life #loveofmylife."

"After two years of dating, Jon Goldstein and Tina Simpson are engaged," the couple's rep later confirmed in a statement. "They are thrilled and completely in love!"

"He's a really nice guy," a source said of Goldstein to Us Weekly. "He's always cared about Tina. He's known them for 15 years and has been a part of their family. He's so happy she said yes! I know he had been planning on asking her for a while."

Simpson was previously wed to Joe Simpson from 1978 to 2013, and also shares daughter Ashlee Simpson with her ex. She and Goldstein attended Jessica Simpson's wedding to retired NFL player Eric Johnson in July 2014.
