Jon Stewart rips into Sarah Palin on The Daily Show for comparing Christian baptism to the waterboarding of terror suspects. Palin was at an even for the NRA speaking on gun rights when she jumped off topic and started discussing national security, eventually saying if she were in charge, she would firmly endorse water-boarding. "Well, if I were in charge, they would know that water-boarding is how we'd baptize terrorists." Jon Stewart quickly jumped onto this statement. He played the clip of Palin's speech and summed up the reaction in one sound: "Huh?" Then he proceeded to destroy Palin's "logic." "Huh?! That is Sarah Palin giving a speech where she is somehow conflating a sacrament of her faith with torture in order to somehow bring the fear of God to religious extremist. Where is that speech even appropriate? At an al-Quaida recruitment how-to video workshop? Or maybe she's giving one of those 'Huh?! Talks' -- they're like TED Talks except they make no sense ... well, so, TED Talks." The Catholic Church has stood firm against torture with Pope Benedict XVI saying on one of his addresses that "not everything automatically becomes permissible between hostile parties once war has regrettably commenced."
