
Actors Keira Knightley and Jude Law are among big-name nominees for European Film Awards this year, officials said. The official nominations for the 26th European Film Awards were announced Saturday night, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Knightley and Law are nominated in the best actress and actor categories, respectively, for their performances in "Anna Karenina." Johan Heldenbergh, Fabrice Luchini, Toni Servillo and Tom Schilling are also nominated for best actor, and Veerle Baetens, Barbara Sukowa, Naomi Watts and Luminita Gheorghiu for best actress. Nominees for best European film include Abdellatif Kechiche's "Blue Is the Warmest Color," Giuseppe Tornatore's "The Best Offer," "Blancanieves," written and directed by Pablo Berger, Felix van Groeningen's "The Broken Circle Breakdown," which got the most nominations overall, "The Great Beauty" by Paolo Sorrentino, and Jan Ole Gerster's "Oh Boy!" Berger, van Groeningen, Kechiche, Sorrentino, and Tornatore are also up for the best director award, along with Francois Ozon for "In The House," the Reporter said. This will be the inaugural year for the best European comedy award. Pedro Almodovar's "I'm So Excited," Riccardo Milani's Welcome "Mr President!," Susanne Bier's "Love is All You Need" and Vinko Bresan's "The Priest's Children" are nominated for the new honor.
