Mariah Carey confirms exit from American Idol

Mariah Carey\'s representatives announced via Twitter Thursday the US pop star will not return for a second season as judge on talent show, American Idol. \"W/ global success of \"#Beautiful\" (#1 in 30+ countries so far) @MariahCarey confirms world tour & says goodbye 2 Idol,\" Carey\'s camp tweeted. \"The rest of this year is jam-packed with Mariah putting the finishing touches on her much anticipated forthcoming album, headlining the Macy\'s fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular and appearing in Lee Daniels [film] The Butler, opening in August,\" her publicist told People.com in a statement. Carey\'s fellow judges Nicki Minaj and Randy Jackson also have confirmed they are leaving the show. The fourth panellist, Keith Urban, has said he would like to come back next season; however, the singing competition series\' producers have not announced any future casting yet.
