Veteran actor Michael Keaton said he is seriously considering reprising his title role in the 1988 comedy hit "Beetlejuice." Keaton told MTV News this week that reuniting with director Tim Burton would be a major factor in convincing him to get back in the saddle. "I always said that's the one thing I'd like to do again, if I ever did anything again," Keaton said. "But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another." Keaton said he had emailed Burton "a couple of times, and talked to the writer a couple of times, but it's all really, really preliminary." Artistic considerations aside, a second go at "Beetlejuice" would be tempting for other reasons. The original version of the supernatural comedy conjured up $73 million at the box office in 1988 dollars, the New York Daily News said. The Daily News said the scheduling for a "Beetlejuice" sequel appeared to be accommodating for Keaton, Burton and actress Winona Ryder. The screenplay is being written by Seth Grahame-Smith, whose most recent credit was "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."
