Nicole Richie says she and Paris Hilton are still close friends.
The 32-year-old star opened up about her longtime pal Tuesday on Watch What Happens Live. The two have known each other since childhood, and co-starred on reality series The Simple Life from 2003 to 2007. Richie told host Andy Cohen she and Hilton will always be friends, but she no longer speaks to Lindsay Lohan.
"Paris is somebody that's been in my life since day one," she shared. "I haven't spoken to her in a while, technically, but...my view of a friendship is somebody that you don't necessarily have to talk to every day. It's somebody that you can call when you need them, and they're just going to be there."
"An idea of a true friend is somebody that's going to be there for you through and through," she elaborated. "I haven't spoken to [Hilton] in a while, but we are very good friends, and I love her and love her family, and have a lot of respect for her."
When asked about onetime friend Lindsay Lohan, Richie merely responded with a smile, "Haven't spoken to her in a while."
Richie's new show, Candidly Nicole, premieres July 17 on VH1. The program offers a humorous glimpse into her daily life as she explores, learns and has "so much fun."
