American Horror Story actress Sarah Paulson told reporters over the weekend she'd be heading to the gym before attending Monday night's 66th Anual Emmy Awards.
While speaking at Saturday's Television Academy's Performers Nominee reception in LA, the 39-year-old star said she hated when "people don't admit that they're doing things like that before they go because it's a crock of [expletive]"
"They're like, 'I just woke up and ate a pound of ice cream with my friend.' It's like, 'No, you didn't. You've been exercising since the last Emmys.'"
Paulson, who is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for her role in American Horror Story: Coven, went on to joke that "I should look like Gisele [Bündchen] with the amount of exercising I do, but I don't."
"It just tells you what I'd look like if I wasn't doing any of it," she added.
But exercising is not all she does. Paulson has also been working long hours shooting the upcoming season of American Horror Story in New Orleans, and she's particularly proud of being a part of the show.
"We're trying to bring it for everybody," she said. "It doesn't get stale. I could never have dreamt up this character ... and now I'm playing a character with two heads. Where in the world would I ever get to do that but the world of Ryan Murphy?"
Paulson has been involved in all four season of the FX erotic thriller and was a series regular for seasons three, Asylum, and four, Coven.
