Sugarland\'s role in tragedy questioned

Lawyers say they want to know more about country duo Sugarland\'s role in the Indiana State Fair stage rigging collapse that killed seven and injured dozens. Attorneys for Mid-America Sound Corp., the company that owned the stage, have asked a Marion Superior Court judge to order the performers to be deposed next week on their role in the August concert, The Indianapolis Star reported Monday. The band, Mid-America and others involved in planning the Aug. 13 concert are listed as defendants in several lawsuits stemming from the storm-triggered concert disaster. Everyone but Sugarland and its ownership company, Lucky Star Inc., have agreed to give depositions, court documents Mid-America filed last Friday show. Sugarland members Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush were scheduled to give testimony next week, but Lucky Star indicated the duo will not be able to and did not suggest an alternative date. Marion Superior Court Judge Theodore Sosin has scheduled a hearing Friday to determine whether Nettles, Bush and a representative from Lucky Star will be ordered to give depositions next week.
