
"Philomena," "Enough Said" and "Before Midnight" were honored with awards from the Women Film Critics Circle in New York. "Philomena" was named the year's Best Movie About Women Sunday. It also earned the award for Best Female Images in a Movie, and its star, Judi Dench, got the prize for Best Actress. Writer-director Nicole Holofcener's "Enough Said" won the award for Best Movie by a Woman and actress-screenwriter Julie Delpy earned the Best Woman Storyteller honor for writing "Before Midnight" with director Richard Linklater and her co-star Ethan Hawke. "Before Midnight" also garnered the award for Best Equality of the Sexes and the award for Women's Work/Best Ensemble went to "Ginger & Rosa." Chiwetel Ejiofor won the Best Actor accolade for his performance in "12 Years a Slave," as well as the prize for Best Male Images in a Movie. Onata Aprile from "What Maisie Knew" won the award for Best Young Actress and Melissa McCarthy from "The Heat" won the Best Comedic Actress title. The Worst Female Images in a Movie distinction was given to "The Bling Ring" and the Worst Male Images in a Movie went to "Only God Forgives." "Frozen" won the award for Best Animated Females and "The Wind Rises" was declared Best Family Film.
