Unknown gunmen Thursday killed 14 Libyan army soldiers in the coastal city of Sirte, Libya's official news agency reported.
According to dpa, the soldiers were guarding a power plant in the area of al-Qabiya in the western part of Sirte where they were attacked in a pre-dawn raid, the report said, citing an unnamed military official.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
