
Syrian forces gained the upper hand over foreign-backed militants across the outskirts of Homs and struck deadly blow at the rebels, a military source said on Wednesday.
The military source told SANA that the Syrian Armed Forces pushed forward with operations against the insurgents' organizations in various areas in Homs, targeting their gatherings and thwarting their infiltration attempts with the result of numbers of rebels getting killed.
The Syrian soldiers thwarted attempts by terrorists to infiltrate al-Waer farms from the direction of Jisr al-Khrab in Homs, leaving a number of them dead and wounded.
The army conducted a series od mop up operations in the villages of Rahoum, al-Sultaniyeh, al-Shendakhiyeh and al-Msheirfeh in the Eastern countryside of Homs.
Other gatherings of militants were also targeted in al-Rastan, in the villages of Kafrlaha and Taldo in al-Houleh and in the villages of al-Qneitrat and al-Aamrat in Talbiseh in the countryside.
