Manama - Emirates Voice

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa affirmed the importance of investing in the education sector, stressing that upgrading it is one of Bahrain’s priorities on the path of development and modernization. He underlined the importance of the sector in enriching the community and grooming its members intellectually and academically so as to enable them to take part effectively in the kingdom’s development process.

HRH the Premier made the remarks as he received at Gudaibiya Palace today Ahlia University Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees and the committee of the graduation ceremony held by the university last week under the patronage of HRH the Prime Minister. The delegation was led by Board Chairman Farouq Yusef Al-Moayed and founding President and Board of Trustees Chairman Prof. Abdullah Yusef Al Hawaj.

HRH the Premier emphasised the importance of education in social prosperity and development, praising the Bahraini competencies and describing them as the nation’s human asset. He hailed the role of Ahlia University, describing it as a pioneering educational edifice and wishing its staff and affiliates further success. He also underlined the government’s keenness to continue its approach in promoting investment in education by providing the needed facilities and following up on procedures to guarantee quality education according to the latest international standards. The aim, he said, is to prepare highly qualified and well-trained competencies to enroll in the labour market. He called on the youth to equip themselves with knowledge and awareness to assume responsibilities in maintaining national security and stability.

HRH the Prime Minister congratulated the university’s 12th batch of graduates, wishing them success in their future careers. He underlined the key role of the private education sector in backing the government’s efforts and schemes to upgrade education and optimise services. He expressed appreciation of the leading places achieved by Bahrain’s educational institutions in regional and international competitions. He also praised the role of the university in grooming patriotic generations who are keen on holding on to the inherent Bahraini values, being the framework that protects the community’s unity and cohesion.

On his part, Prof. Abdullah Al Hawaj extended thanks and appreciation to HRH the Premier for his annual patronage of the university’s graduation ceremony, describing it as a source of pride and honour for all affiliates. He added that HRH the Prime Minister’s support to education and the university is an incentive to exert more efforts to provide optimum and modern educational services. He also pledged to continue working diligently to keep abreast of cutting edge international educational systems and provide the labour market with highly qualified competencies
