Beit Al Khair Society wins best performer award in Arab world

Beit Al Khair Society (BAKS) won the Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Prize for Best Charity Performance in the Arab World, sharing the top position with two other Saudi charity entities.

Abdeen Taher Al Awadhi, general manager of BAKS, said the competition witnessed stiff competition from 156 charitable and humanitarian associations in the Arab world. "The award has been professionally judged by the Arab Administrative Development Organisation of the Arab League in Cairo."

Only nine societies and associations from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Morocco have met the strict terms and conditions of the prestigious award and secured the top ranks, he explained.

"Beit Al Khair, along with two entities from Saudi Arabia, managed to seize the top position and won $50,000 each. The prize is aimed to provide the opportunity to Arab charity societies to boost their performance and urge them to adopt the concept of excellence in charity work."

Saeed Mubarak Al Mazrooei, deputy general manager of BAKS, said the federal and local governments have always been there to assist them in their sacred mission. "BAKS is committed to help anyone in need for help with special attention to vulnerable segments of the society, including old people, widows, people with determination, orphans and defaulters."
