Laurentiu Reghecampf addresses the Press conference ahead of the Arabian Gulf Cup match
Abu Dhabi - Emirates Voice

Al Wahda coach Laurentiu Reghecampf said his players are all-fit and eager to take on newest club Shabab Al Ahli-Dubai in the first round match of the Arabian Gulf Cup at the Al Nahyan Stadium on Friday evening.

"This is our first game. We will surely try to win," Reghecampf said during a Press conference on Wednesday.

Reghecampf pointed out that Shabab Al Ahli might have seen lot of changes in terms of players but they have a top coach in Cosmin Olaroiu, who is very aggressive.

"It's a new team and they have made lot of changes but they have the same coach. I know him (Olaroiu) very well. He will prepare the players in the same way (as he did at Al Ahli). Olaroiu wants to win every time. But I am happy to meet Olaroiu every time. It will be a difficult game. We have prepared very well."

When asked about national players missing Austria training after being away for international duty, the coach said: "I don't think too much about this. It was a difficult time with training as I never had full players together. It was difficult to prepare the team. But I have very positive things in last two months with good results in friendlies."

However, he added: "I hope Ismail Matar is fit and has no injury and can help us out. I haven't seen them since they are back. Ismail is an efficient player."

However, the injury worry for Reghecampf comes in the form of Balazs Dzsudzsak. The Hungarian midfielder has a small niggle but nothing serious.

"I have a good team. If one player is not in good shape and can't play, I have solutions," Reghecampf noted.

When asked if it was a tough start to the season facing Shabab Al Ahli Dubai in the opener, he said: "Every game is important for us. We prepared almost two months for this season. We just need to play a good game and don't need to do something more," a confident Reghecampf said.

Al Wahda faced opponents from Egypt, Jordan and Algeria during the Arab Club Championship and players are in good shape. And Shabab Al Ahli Dubai will be eager to start with a win to get going with new season. It will be interesting battle on cards in Al Nahyan Stadium on Friday evening.
