A slight rise in temperatures

A slight drop in temperatures is expected on Tuesday, but hot conditions will continue to prevail pushing daytime temperatures to 37 degrees Celsius in Amman, while it will hike to 44 in the Gulf of Aqaba, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) .

Temperatures will cool down at night dropping to 24 degrees in the capital and sliding to 30 degrees in Aqaba, the JMD said.

A further drop in mercury levels is forecast on Wednesday creating relatively hot conditions until Thursday in Amman, the hilly areas and the Badia regions, while it will be hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk blowing dust in the desert areas at times, the JMD noted.
