Foreign firms snap up over half of Chinese subsidies for eco-cars

Foreign automakers received more than half of China\'s subsidies for promoting energy-efficient cars in the country, authorities said Tuesday, indicating that global manufacturers are eager to take advantage of the country\'s move to boost the burgeoning segment. China has been encouraging the use of hybrid, electric and energy-efficient vehicles and has introduced a green-car subsidy program to lift the nation\'s auto industry and cut vehicle emissions.
