Zoltan Bod has built a 151mpg concept car in the comfort of his own home, and one day maybe you can too.The Great White North has exported some tremendously talented people over the last few years, such as Alanis Morissette, Bronko Nagurski and Bret \"The Hitman\" Hart.\" Zoltan Bod may have etched himself into the same conversation with his ultra-efficient concept car, the Zoleco.The Zoleco, a combination of the first three letters of his name with the word \'eco,\' runs on a 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that combines several fuel-saving technologies.These include both thermal and braking energy recovery. The vehicle is also very light, aerodynamic and designed to reduce drag as much as possible. So much so, in fact, that according to Bod the Zoleco achieves an 82 percent reduction in fuel consumption over similar small cars with similar engines. Just how efficient is the Zoleco? How about 151mpg.Bod has been very active in working with cars, and regarding his latest creation, he said \"Now I reached a point in my life where I am compelled to focus all my experience into creating a car that is exciting to look at and to drive.\"He continued: \"All the while knowing that the energy management abilities that it possesses are helping to point the way to a sustainable future.\"He further commented on the performance of his concept, which he is still fine-tuning now, saying \"All indications are that the Zoleco will require 8.2hp to maintain 65 mph. Taking a look at it from a Bonneville Salt Flat perspective, indications are that the 80hp available with the baseline engine could feasibly push the Zoleco to just over 145 mph with minimal wind noise.\"The future of the Zoleco is currently up in the air, as it could eventually head to production.Zoltan Bod is considering selling a do-it-yourself kit for his Zoleco concept, allowing prospective buyers with some free-time and a bit of automotive acumen to create their own efficient car.
