
HE Eng. Nasser bin Ali Al Mawlawi, the President of the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal”, and Ibrahim Jahham Al Kuwari, the General Manager of Qatar Fuel (WOQOD), on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that acts as a framework for securing the supply of bitumen for its projects.“As part of its efforts to secure the supply of bitumen for its current and future projects, the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) to form a framework for the supply of bitumen for Ashghal’s projects”, ‘Ashghal said in a press release issued here today .As per the agreement, WOQOD will provide a structured framework for regular supply of bitumen from 2014 to 2019 for projects under Ashghal’s mandate over the next five years.By signing this MOU, Ashghal is aiming to increase the bitumen quantities imported into Qatar, thus reducing potential shortage risks. The Authority will also continue its efforts to ensure the sufficient supply of needed quantities of bitumen to its projects, not only through the MOU signed with WOQOD, but also through a tender process to select additional suppliers, and will also embed the MOU terms into new and potentially existing contracts.
