
Croatia will open a new international tender for oil and gas exploration in its inland soon, Croatian Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak said on Tuesday.
Vrdoljak said at a conference on the government's energy policy, the tender for oil and gas exploration in Croatia inland, primarily in the Drava river basin and in eastern Slavonia, would likely be published in the middle of July.
Some 40 international companies had shown interest in the tender, according to Croatian News Agency Hina.
Oil and gas exploration is one of topical events in Croatian energy sector, the minister said.
Croatia opened a tender for oil and gas exploration in its part of the Adriatic Sea in April this year.
