Managing director of Lavan Oil Refining Company Mohammad Ali Dadvar said the company plans to upgrade the quality of its gasoline to euro-4 standards. Dadvar told the oil ministry's website that the company can implement the project in ten days provided the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) approve it. He added that the old unit of the refinery is producing 1.03 million liters per day of 87-octane gasoline and 600 thousand liters of naphtha. “the new unit of Lavan Oil Refinery, which came online last summer, yields about one million liters of 95-octane gasoline per day, compatible with euro-4 standards”, Dadvar said. He also said that the old precision instrument of the refinery will be replaced by a new one in order to make non-stop gasoline production possible, a project that, according to the official, will come online late February. Lavan Oil Refinery was built in 1976 with processing capacity of 20 thousand barrels per day and was developed during the 1990s.The refinery, at present, takes 60 thousand barrels of oil per day and produces 2.1 million liters of euro-2 and euro-4 gasoline.
