Libyan naval forces opened fire toward an oil tanker carrying North Korea's flag and loaded with an oil shipment smuggled from Libyan Al-Sidra port heading east of Benghazi coasts. Libyan forced sealed off the area surrounding the tanker before the tanker attempt to enter international waters. "The navy made sure its attempt was only to stop the tanker from moving ahead, without causing any damage or casualties to its crew," the spokesman for oil facilities protection Waleed Al-Tarhoni told KUNA. Earlier, the tanker attempted to depart Al-Sidra port toward the Suez Canal. Al-Tarhoni said that the navy also fired warning shots before the tanker leaves the port, but the tanker crew ignored the shots, and the navy, one kilometer oof the port, was able to stop the tanker, leading it to Al-Zawiya oil port.
