
The Oil Ministry has not proposed any specific price for gasoline as efforts are underway for raising the price of the product as of the beginning of the next Iranian calendar year on 21st March. Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh told Shana that a meeting is going to be held in the presence of president Rouhani to decide on a final price, without mentioning any specific time. Yesterday, Deputy Oil Minister Mansour Moazzami said the Ministry backed a single-price system for gasoline and other oil products. He told Shana that the Oil Ministry would put into force any decision be taken by the government pertaining to energy carrier prices. Currently Iranian motorists pay different prices for various grades of gasoline which include respectively 4.000 and 5.000 rials for rationed regular and premium gasoline, and 7.000 and 8.000 rials for extra gasoline they may use.
