Petroleum minister: Developing Upper Egypt top priority

Developing Upper Egypt is a top priority for the government in general and for the petroleum sector in particular, affirmed Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Sherif Ismail. The petroleum sector achieved successes in the areas of south valley, since the establishment of Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company (GANOPE), he added during inspecting work site and petroleum production in the Kom Ombo area in Aswan. The minister, along with Aswan Governor Mostafa Yosri, listened to a detailed explanation from the GANOPE's chief Mostafa Safwat, who said that it is planned to invest some 58 million dollars during the upcoming fiscal year in the field of exploration in south valley areas.
