Dubai has planned to transform six of its 49 metro stations into art museums showcasing artistic and creative cultural works, according to an official announcement. The project would cost 184 million Dirham, about 50.20 million U.S. dollars, and is expected to complete by March 2015. The six stations along the 75 kilometer long metro line are mostly located in central Dubai. The Dubai metro is the only driverless city train system in the Arab peninsula, attracting more than 137 million visitors per annum. The plan also includes decorating bridges and underpasses in Dubai in a bid to add artistic touches to the streets of the Emirate.
