Foreign minister meets Iraqi counterpart

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met here his Iraqi counterpart, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, during the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Republic of Iraq.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Iraq, and reviewed ways to enhance these relations and elevate them to wider horizons for the benefit of both countries and peoples.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq stressed the brotherly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Iraq, praising the positions of the Kingdom of Bahrain in support of the Republic of Iraq in its fight against terrorism, extremism and violence as well as draining the sources of terrorism funding, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.

During the meeting, it was agreed to continue coordination of positions in all forums and ways to strengthen relations through the joint committee between the two brotherly countries, in addition to discussing the most important developments in the region.
